Christopher John Koski

HANCOCK — Christopher John Koski, 53, of Hancock passed away peacefully at the Portage Health System, on Saturday, November 4, 2017.

Christopher was born on September 1, 1964, a son of Norman and Corinne (Blau) Koski.

He was employed for many years at Osceola Fiberglass Mfg. He was also employed as a farm hand at Sturgeon River Farms. It became very apparent at this job that Chris had such a love of animals and all things in nature. His family and friends enjoyed listening to his many hunting stories – he was a natural story teller. His ability to give you the name of every bird and their habits was amazing. His love for nature was his gift that he gladly shared with others.

Christopher is survived by his parents, Norman and Corinne Koski of Hancock; a brother, Stephen of Saint Paul, Minnesota; his sister, Kathy of Hancock; a niece, Madisyn Wright, of Hancock; and a nephew, Giles, of Saint Paul, Minnesota. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, Robert and Suzanne Mikesch of Hancock, Gerald and Patricia Tuovila of Laurium, Dennis and Joan Polzien of Calumet, Jay and Sheila Blau of Berea, Ohio, and Marcia Blau of Calumet; and his uncles, Gary Peurasaari of Wisconsin and Douglas and Kurt Peurasaari of Calumet. He is also survived by numerous cousins and close friends.

A memorial service is planned for Christopher at the Siskiwit Reception Hall & Conference Center in Calumet on Sunday, November 12, 2017, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Keranen officiating. Family and friends will have an opportunity to share in their memories, their sorrow, their laughter and their love of our beautiful son, nephew, uncle and brother “Chitch.”

Ryan Funeral Home is serving the family.
