HOUGHTON, MI (October 24, 2017) MTEC SmartZone is gearing up to host Return North: Professional Careers Reception, its first Thanksgiving Eve event aimed at attracting professionals to the Keweenaw.
The Keweenaw is home to fast-growing, innovative companies that have produced hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars in revenue. With the hopes of convincing returning professionals that it’s time to ‘Return North’, these companies are coming together to showcase what they have to offer.
GS Engineering, ThermoAnalytics and Signature Research, three large engineering firms based in the Keweenaw, are among the companies committed to the event.
The reception will be held on Wednesday, November 22 from 5-8 p.m. at the Bonfire Grill in Houghton. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about local career opportunities in a casual networking setting while enjoying appetizers and refreshments. A cash bar will also available.
“We want to connect with professionals who are traveling back to the Copper Country for the holiday, but anyone is welcome to attend,” said Marilyn Clark, CEO of MTEC SmartZone. “Our companies are doing a lot of hiring right now, it’s a great time for folks wanting to move back here to network for jobs.”
Registration is available at www.return-north.eventbrite.com. Advance registration is preferred, but not necessary.
The event is sponsored by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and Michigan Tech Enterprise Corporation (MTEC) SmartZone.
