Lawrence Heikell

Lawrence Heikell, age 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Centennial Heights on October 16, 2017.
Lawrence was born to Edward and Impi (Ranta) Heikell on September 14, 1939 in Centennial Heights.
He attended the Centennial Schools.
He was united in marriage to Patricia Jean Narhi on December 14, 1963 in Calumet.
He worked as a copper miner for years at various mines including the White Pine, Centennial, and in Ahmeek. He eventually retired from Copper Range Mining Company in 1995.
He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to spend time hunting and fishing. He was also a talented musician and enjoyed playing his accordion.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his sons Lorence and Karl L., parents Edward and Impi, brothers Paul and Carl.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Jean.
Daughters: Laurie (Jim) Putman of Cornucopia, Wisconsin
Lisa (Gary) Brake of St Petersburg, Florida
Patricia R. (Ronald) Thomas of Kingsford, Michigan
10 Grandchildren: Tara, Tanya, Joshua, Cassie (James), Zachary, Kyle, Rodger, Hunter, Amber, and Nicholas.
8 Great-grandchildren
Brother: Stanley (Barbara) Heikell of Warren, Michigan
Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private family service will be held at the Lake View Cemetery in Calumet.
The Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet is assisting the family with arrangements.
