Throughout the 2017-18 academic year, Finlandia University’s International School of Art & Design will host immersive opportunities for prospective art students to meet staff and students, gain experience as artists, and explore Finlandia’s first-class studio spaces.
“The experience of being an art student at Finlandia is amazing, and we’re proud to share it with prospective students throughout this school year,” said Denise Vandeville, dean of the school. “This will also be a great opportunity for students to gain tips and hints that may help them earn our $20,000 competitive Brule Scholarship next spring.”
Each session will feature directed studio time with Finlandia faculty in one of five specialties – graphic design, fiber and fashion design, intermedia, integrated design, or ceramic design.
The studio time will be hosted by the faculty member, and will allow students the opportunity to work side-by-side with current FinnU art students.
Prospective artists will also have the opportunity to meet with admissions and financial aid staff, and to take an optional tour of the rest of Finlandia’s campus.
Each event is free for high school seniors or community college students interested in enrolling in Finlandia’s International School of Art & Design.
