The Finlandia University men’s soccer team is in Yankton, South Dakota for a match against Kansas Christian College this afternoon.

Taylor Archibald’s goal in the first minute of the second overtime period lifted the Michigan Tech soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Saginaw Valley State yesterday. After falling behind 1-0 in the first half, Marissa DeMario’s shot off an Archibald pass in the second half forced overtime. Kirsen Hudak made six saves to get the win in goal.
MLB
Matt Boyd came within one out of pitching a no-hitter yesterday, as the Detroit Tigers pounded the Chicago White Sox 12-0. Tim Anderson’s double with two outs in the ninth denied Boyd a place in baseball history. He retired the next batter to complete the shutout. Mikie Mahtook, Nicholas Castellanos and Jeimer Candelario homered for Detroit.
The Tigers entertain the Athletics tonight. Buck Farmer will start against Jharel Cotton. Because of Lions football, pregame coverage will begin at 6:45 on KBear 102.3.
The Milwaukee Brewers scored eight runs in the fourth inning, and cruised to a 10-3 victory over the Miami Marlins yesterday. Brandon Woodruff gave up three runs over seven innings to get the win.
The Brewers welcome the Pirates tonight. Brent Suter will start against Jameson Taillon.
The Cubs completed a sweep of the Cardinals, so Chicago still leads Milwaukee by four games in the National League Central Division.
NFL
The Green Bay Packers fell behind early, and lost to the Atlanta Falcons 34-23 last night. Receiver Jordy Nelson left the game early with a quad injury. Randall Cobb was sidelined late in the game with a shoulder injury.
