Animal Shelter Bursting At The Seams

The Copper Country Humane Society is packed full.

The Houghton animal shelter posted on Facebook over the weekend that they have received an unusual amount of strays and owner surrendered animals over the past week.

Because of that, they had to temporarily stop taking in any more owner surrendered animals.

The staff is working to get their current strays home and to find homes for their adoptable animals.

If an owner needs to surrender an animal, they can contact the shelter to make arrangements to do so as soon as space allows.

They hope to be able to make room for more animals by the end of the week.
