The comedic action takes place as major as well as imaginary figures of the 20th century sit down for a few drinks in a perspective shifting evening that makes it impossible to experience reality in the same way ever again. “Fires in the Mirror” will be performed Nov. 15, 16, and 30 and Dec. 2. in the McArdle Theatre. Auditions will take place in Walker 210, across from the McArdle. The play looks at the Crown Heights tragedy in Brooklyn during the summer of 1991. How can these things happen? A child is hit by a car while playing on the sidewalk. In retaliation, a young man is stabbed to death. A community turns inward upon itself, neighbor is set against neighbor. Can an out of balance world be set right?
