A homeless shelter in the Copper Country is closer to becoming a reality and you can help make it happen.
The organizers of Hope House have set up a Go Fund Me site with the goal of raising $5,000 to get the shelter started.
Roughly 150 people are said to be homeless in the area during the winter with close to 60 of those being under the age of 17.
Money raised will be used for the purchasing of supplies–including mattresses, storage totes and linens.
Funds will also be used for expenses associated with gathering communality members for meetings and for office expenses, such as supplies and printing.
Additional money will be used for legal assistance.
Hope House officially formed earlier this year and are in the process of obtaining their 501(c)(3) non-profit status.
