The Houghton Keweenaw Communities that Care would like to thank the community for their participation in the community voting to select the 2 Risk Factors to target for the next couple years. “Depressive Symptoms” and “Low Risk of Drug Use” received the overwhelming vote by the community, according to John Niemela, Executive Board Chairman of the CTC.
The next step is for the Resource Work Group to inventory which programs are currently being offered to youth that address these risk factors. They will then work with those organizations to see if their programs could be expanded and what help the CTC may offer to help expand the programming. If it is determined there are no programs offered, then they will search for evidence based programs to address these risk factors and then work to bring them to our community.
The Houghton Keweenaw Communities That Care would like to thank the Portage Health Auxiliary for supporting the Community Assessment Report and Vote.
