Chassell
Louis R. Menara, 31, a resident of Chassell passed away Wednesday evening July 5, 2017, at the UP Health System – Marquette Hospital.
He was born on May 25, 1986, in Holland, MI, a son of Ronda (Sauvola) and the late Randy Menara. As a child, the family returned to the Copper Country where he resided in Houghton and Chassell and attended the Chassell and Houghton Schools.
Mr. Menara was a veteran serving with the United States Army National Guard having served a tour in Iraq.
Locally Louie worked as a cook for various restaurants in the area.
Louie was a member of VFW Post #6507, of Chassell, loved to fish, shoot gun’s, play video games, watch movies, spend time with his family and friends, cook and make people laugh.
Preceding him in death were his father Randy Menara, his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather.

His mother: Ronda (Rob) Metor of Escanaba
His siblings: Samantha (Tyler Monette) Cadeau of Chassell
Amber (Jason Juntunen) Menara of Elmira, MI
His grandmother: Eleanor Sauvola of Houghton, MI
His step-sister: Rachel Metor of Muskegon, MI
His step-brother: Robert Metor of Escanaba
His aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins
A graveside military honors for Louis will be held 2 pm Saturday July 22, 2017, at the Chassell Cemetery.
A time to remember and celebrate Louie’s life will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 pm Saturday July 22, 2017, at the Chassell VFW.
Louie was able to touch many people during his life and will continue to help three more by the act of donating his organs.
