“Wall E” will be shown as part of the the Movie Magic Film Series at the Calumet Theatre on Wednesday, July 12 at 7 pm. Admission is $1 per person with fresh popcorn and concessions for sale. Kids 13 and under have a chance to win prizes including a bike.
WALL-E, short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-class, is the last robot left on Earth. He spends his days tidying up the planet, one piece of garbage at a time. But during 700 years, WALL-E has developed a personality, and he’s more than a little lonely. Then he spots EVE, a sleek and shapely probe sent back to Earth on a scanning mission. Smitten WALL-E embarks on his greatest adventure yet when he follows EVE across the galaxy.
Movie Magic Films are a summer favorite of area kids and their families as well as visitors who have a chance to experience the historic Calumet Theatre the way their grandparents did when it was a movie house. There are five more Movie Magic Films on Wednesdays: July 19 – Zootopia; July 26 – Madagascar; Aug. 2 – Maleficent; Aug. 9 – Trolls; and Aug. 16 – Tangled
The Movie Magic Film Series is in collaboration with the Public Schools of Calumet, Laurium, Keweenaw and is supported by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs Minigrant program, administered by the Region 1A Copper Country Community Arts Council and Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital.
