Come bike the boulevard!
The City of Houghton is calling for all bike enthusiasts to join them on Saturday to celebrate the opening of the Houghton Avenue Bike Boulevard.
Mayor Pro-Tem Robert Megowan will lead the ride, starting at 11am at Ray Kestner Waterfront Park.
There will be free water bottles while supplies last.
Several changes have been made to stop signs at intersections along the boulevard to increase the flow of bike traffic, following the east-west route.
Bicyclists are encouraged to use Houghton Avenue instead of Montezuma Avenue.
Motorists are also reminded to look out for changes to the stop signs at intersections on Houghton Avenue, as well as watch out for bicyclists.
