Farmer

MLB
The Detroit Tigers had yesterday off, and open a home set against the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight. Buck Farmer will start against Zack Greinke. Pregame coverage will begin at 6:45 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

The Milwaukee Brewers also had yesterday off. They’ll play a doubleheader at St. Louis today. The afternoon game is a makeup of a rainout on May 3rd. The regularly-scheduled game will be played this evening. Milwaukee starters have not been announced.

The Major League Baseball draft began last night. The Detroit Tigers used the 18th selection to take University of Florida pitcher Alex Faedo. They had also drafted Faedo in 2014 out of high school, but he elected to proceed to college. With the 57th pick, Detroit took left-handed power hitter Reynaldo Rivera, who led Chipola, Florida, Junior College to the National Junior College Athletic Association championship. At 6-foot-6, and 260-pounds, he will likely play first base, but also has a good enough arm that he could cover a corner outfield position.

The Milwaukee Brewers used the ninth pick to take second baseman Keston Hiura from California-Irvine. They added high school outfielder Tristan Lutz with the 34th selection, and and high school pitcher Caden Lemons with the 46th pick.

The draft continues today.
