Great Deer Chase

The Aspirus Keweenaw Great Deer Chase mountain bike races are coming to the Swedetown trails this Saturday. Kids races begin at 9 a.m. The 15 and 28 mile mountain bike races start at 11, leading out the Calumet Heritage Festival parade. Pre-race events include a guided pre-ride for the 15 and 28 mile racers on Wednesday evening at 6 o’clock. An ice cream social fundraiser for continued development of the Swedetown trails will be held Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 at the 5th & Elm coffee shop in Calumet. Sundaes will be $5 each and all proceeds go toward the trails. Volunteers are needed for things like traffic control, set up and clean up on Saturday for the race.
