Drunk Driver Crashes Into Police Car

An alleged drunk driver crashed into a parked patrol car from the Michigan State Police Calumet Post Thursday night.

The accident happened just after 11:30pm.  The trooper was parked on the shoulder of US-41 in the Village of L’Anse performing a stationary patrol when their vehicle was struck by a passing motorist.

The trooper was treated and released at a local hospital.  The driver of the other vehicle was not injured in the crash.

The driver was arrested as a result of the crash and charged with an OWI and lodged in the Baraga County Jail by the L’Anse Police Department.

The identity of the driver of the other vehicle is being withheld pending arraignment.
