Ontonagon County Man Arrested On Multiple Drug Charges

Detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET) arrested a 35 year old man on March 30th on charges related to the selling of narcotics.

After a five month long investigation, the suspect was arrested in the City of Ironwood on one count of Delivery of Methamphetamine and one count of Maintaining a Drug House.

Detectives assigned to UPSET along with the Michigan State Police Emergency Support Team also executed a search warrant at a cabin in Ontonagon County, where the suspect was residing.

Detectives seized several firearms, stolen property, as well as several grams of crystal meth.

Detectives observed evidence that identified the suspect was involved in the distribution of meth.

The suspect is lodged in the Gogebic County Jail and his name is being withheld pending his arraignment. The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.

UPSET was assisted by the Michigan State Police Emergency Support Team, Michigan State Police Wakefield Post, Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Department, and the Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team (GIANT).
