NMU Given $6.5 Million To Establish U.P.-Wide Broadband Service

Broadband service stretching across the Upper Peninsula could be a step closer to reality.

Northern Michigan University has won the approval of an Investment Fund Award in the amount of $6.5 million to bring high-speed broadband service to the entire U.P.

State Representative Scott Dianda expressed his excitement for the announcement, saying this means entrepreneurs can live here and run their online businesses, and people can finally choose to stay in the U.P. or realize their dream of moving to U.P.

Dianda called it a game-changer for communities across the U.P.
