The potential failure of the Enbridge Line 5 pipeline under the Straits of Mackinac was the main point of contention at Monday’s Pipeline Safety Advisory Board meeting in Lansing.
Mariah Urueta with Food and Water Watch is calling for the pipeline to be shut down, and is calling on the governor and attorney general to step to the plate.
She believes Enbridge is “lying” when calling the chance of failures in the line merely “hypothetical” despite being described as real in various studies.
