Michigan Tech is the recipient of a Michigan Strategic Fund grant.
State Representative Scott Dianda issued a statement congratulating MTU for winning approval for their Michigan Translational Research and Commercialization (MTRAC) Advanced Materials Innovation Hub.
The university was also approved for $525,000 in MTRAC funding over two years to help this project bring new technologies to the marketplace.
Dianda said this is great news for the Advanced Materials program that has already resulted in new start-ups, new jobs and other spin-off projects.
