Republican U.S. Senate candidate Terri Lynn Land insists there is nothing illegal or improper about a three-million dollar campaign contribution. At issue is an investigation into a contribution the former Michigan Secretary of State made to her own campaign. Authorities say that on federally filed forms Land failed to disclose the account from which that money was withdrawn. It is a joint checking account she shares with her husband. Land insists the error was a simple oversight but opponents say there may be some impropriety as there are limits on how much a spouse may contribute to a campaign.
