Tax Season Brings Uncertainty/Identity Theft

It’s officially tax time as the IRS has begun taking electronically-filed federal returns.

And a new presidential administration means tax planning uncertainty, according to Karen Cady with Plante Moran.

You will get three extra days to file as the deadline is April 18th this year.

Not only is it tax filing season, it’s also open season for identity thieves trying to steal your personal data.

Cady says there’s only one way that the IRS initiates correspondence with taxpayers.
