Michigan State Police will join forces with five other state law enforcement agencies as part of the 6-State Trooper Project to focus on distracted driving enforcement this week. State Police Director Col. Kriste Kibbey Etue says in addition to focusing on distracted driving behaviors, troopers will also be on the lookout for seat belt use, speeding, aggressive and impaired driving. Officials say this multi-state law enforcement partnership provides combined and coordinated law enforcement services in the areas of highway safety, criminal patrol and intelligence sharing. The enforcement effort runs through Saturday.
