Congressional Hearing Looks At Self-Driving Cars

While carmakers make great advances on self driving vehicles, the head of the national highway traffic safety administration says it could take decades before we see the true life saving benefits of those vehicles.

Administrator Mark Rosekind says the more we learn about self-driving vehicles, the more we understand how big this task is.

The director of the state transportation department says he wants Michigan to remain in the forefront of the development of self driving vehicles.

Kirk Steidle told a congressional hearing that this technology could offset an increase in highway deaths at both the state and nationwide level.
