A Delta County man involved in a stabbing incident opted out of a trial and pled to a lesser charge. 73-year-old Tom Hanley was scheduled for a trial this week in Delta County Circuit Court. However, in June, he pled no contest to resisting/obstructing a conservation officer. By pleading to a lesser charge, the Delta County Prosecutor’s Office dismissed treating Hanley as a habitual offender and an original charge of resisting/obstructing a police officer. Hanley will be sentenced later this month. He was arrested in March after allegedly stabbing another man at a residence in Ford River Township.
