The Village of L’Anse is about to get smoother. The State of Michigan is sending 675-thousand dollars to help repave the Broad Street/Main Street corridor. Village Manager Bob LaFave says the top layers of old pavement will be removed… and new pavement laid… from the intersection of US-41 and Broad Street… into downtown… and north on Main Street to Jentoft Road… a distance of about two miles. LaFave says plans for the project are already in place… work will begin very soon… and he hopes the project will be complete in about two months. The state’s contribution will cover most of the cost… with the village making up the difference. LaFave thanked State Representative Scott Dianda and State Senator Tom Casperson for their help in making the project possible.
