Phone Scammers Posing As Houghton Police

The City of Houghton Police Department has received numerous complaints of telephone communication scams.

The telephone scams include people posing as a member of the City of Houghton Police Department requesting a telephone call on prior complaints, the IRS and Rachel Card Services.

Police warn residents to be careful of other postal and telephone scams that could be circulating in the area.

Authorities say do not give these people any of your information or money and contact your local police department immediately.
