Teachers from across Michigan were out-front Governor Rick Snyder’s office in Lansing protesting a three-percent cut to their pay and the potential appeal by the governor to keep that cut in place.
The state legislature took the cash to balance the teacher retirement fund.
Cheryl Farver is a protester.
State Attorney General Bill Schuette says he will not handle the governor’s appeal. Governor Rick Snyder will have to use an outside firm to do so.
A recent court ruling says the three-percent cut, worth roughly $4,000 per teacher, should be in their pockets.
