Study Shines Light On Problematic Vehicle Headlights

More indications this morning that your vehicles headlights could be doing a much better job.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety says headlight ratings for a group of 21 small SUVs shows not a single one gets a good rating.

The two main problems included the headlights didn’t shine far enough down the road or they blinded oncoming drivers.

Four models, the Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson and Mazda CX-3, earned the second highest rating of acceptable.

All of the other SUVs tested scored marginal or poor.

Analysts say it should be relatively easy for automakers to improve headlights.

Some just need to be aimed better.
