Victor Martinez’ solo home run in the eighth inning lifted the Detroit Tigers to a 3-2 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays Saturday. The Tigers had taken an early lead. Andrew Romine was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force in a run in the second inning. Jarrod Saltalamacchia singled home a run in the fourth. Toronto got one back off Matt Boyd in the fifth, and tied the game when Bruce Rondon gave up a homer to Devon Travis in the bottom of the seventh. Ironically, Martinez’ home run gave Rondon the win. Boyd struck out six and gave up four hits over five innings.
