Laurium Rental Unit Renovation Project Continues

A project to renovate a group of rental units in Laurium is moving forward.

The project involves four rental units on the first and second floor at 100 N. Pewabic Street in Laurium.

The Village has received a Community Development Block Grant from the Michigan Strategic Fund in the amount of $110,920, with the owner providing an estimated $102,000 in funding.

The Village will submit a request to release those funds on July 15th, following a public comment period on a review of the project, which showed it would have no significant impact on the human environment.

The public can access the Environmental Review Record at the Village office and submit comments until July 14th.
