Senior Project FRESH Providing Free $20 Coupons

Many seniors in the Copper Country will be able to purchase fresh produce from local participating produce or farm markets by using special coupons.

The program is called Senior Project FRESH and is available to any Houghton or Keweenaw County resident, at least 60 years of age or disabled, who meets the income requirements.

Income guidelines are $21,978 for one person or $29,637 for two people per year.

They will receive $20 worth of coupons to be spent at any Farmers Market that accepts FRESH coupons in Michigan.

Representatives from MSU Extension and Copper Country Senior Meals will be at several senior meal sites over the next couple of weeks to help people sign up.

June 29 – Chassell Public Works & Fire Dept. (Chassell) 11:30 – 1:00

June 30 – Keweenaw Pines Apts (Mohawk) 11:30 – 1:00

July 1 – Heritage Manor Apts (Houghton) 10:00 – 11:00 and

July 1 –   Lake View Apts (Hancock) 11:30 – 1:00

July 5 – Pine View Apts (Houghton) – 9:00-9:45 and

July 5 – Park Ave Apts (Calumet) – 11:30 -1:00

July 5 – Golden Horizon Apts (Calumet) – 1:30 – 2:15

July 6 – MSU Houghton Co. Extension Office (Hancock) 10:00-2:00

July 7 – Laurium Housing (Laurium) 10:00 – 10:45

July 13 – MSU Houghton Co. Extension Office (Hancock) 10:00 – 2:00
