Houghton To Provide Recyclables Containers For Residents For $10

Houghton residents will soon be able to buy a container for their recyclables from the city for a discounted amount.

The City Council approved the buying of up to 250 35-gallon containers that will be serviceable by Waste Management when recycling operations begin in August.

City Manager Eric Waara says though there will only be a limited supply, that could change.

The bins will cost the city about $36.00 each but they will sell them to residents for only $10.00.

They are expected to be available from the city center before Labor Day.
