The gray wolf population has reached an all–time high in Wisconsin.
Data released last week from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources showed that a count this past winter led to an estimate between 866 and 897 wolves in the state.
The wolves are spread across northern Wisconsin in 222 packs.
The count represents a 16% increase from last year.
