New State Police Trooper Class In Training

A new class of Michigan State Police troopers is in training.

Sevety men and women reported to the Training Academy in Lansing for the first of 22 weeks of training.

The members of the 130th Trooper Recruit School wake up each morning at 5 a.m.

Among other things, they’ll be learning about guns and other weapons, patrol techniques and precision driving, report writing, ethics, and water safety.

The director of the State Police says a total of 150 new state troopers are expected to graduate this year.

They’ll be assigned to posts throughout the state.
