Further trouble for a Houghton County man who is facing a felony charge.
33-year-old Rudolph Voght of Houghton is charged with third degree fleeing a police officer, a five year felony.
The charge stems from an incident earlier this month where police say the suspect took off on his motorcycle when they tried to pull him over, leading to a chase of roughly 60 miles with speeds topping 150 miles per hour.
Voght appeared in 97th District Court for a preliminary hearing where he requested a court appointed attorney.
He had previously indicated he would seek his own attorney but told the court he had to change his plans after being served papers in an unrelated lawsuit.
The public defender David Gemignani was appointed to his case pending a waiver by the party in the other legal matter, whom Gemignani is also representing.
The judge then informed Voght that he should not have been released on a $500 bond and instead set his bond at ten percent of $25,000.
Voght was ordered to turn himself in to the Houghton County Jail immediately following the hearing.
He is scheduled to appear again for another preliminary hearing in two weeks.
