It’s perhaps the most appropriate name in sports–Guts Frisbee–because it certainly takes a lot of guts to stand in front of plastic disc that has been clocked upwards of 100 miles an hour.
Keweenaw Guts Day is being held tomorrow to launch the summer season for the sport with its roots right here in the Copper Country.
This year’s recipient of the 2016 Bradshaw Award Dennis Walikainen is a long time ambassador for the sport.
He’s says people should come out tomorrow not just to see Guts Frisbee in action, but to also give it a try.
The event gets going around noon at Haralson Field on US-41 in Calumet.
They will have free Coca-Cola products, hot dogs and brats and the Top Gun Award will be given for the fastest high school throwers.
