MIP Penalty Changes Considered

A vote is coming on modifying penalties for minor in possession charges. The Criminal Justice Committee met Tuesday on whether MIP charges should become civil infractions.

That’s Senator Rick Jones of mid-Michigan who is proposing these changes.

They’ll also consider legislation that allows for the suspension of a drivers license if a teen has three MIP’s.
