Join us for ‘South of Your Border’ Free Girls’ Night Out May 23 in Houghton

HOUGHTON – Aspirus invites all senoras and senoritas to “South of Your Border,” a free Aspiring Women girls’ night out.

“South of Your Border” will be a fiesta of feminine facts, featuring Aspirus’ local team of specialists including Certified Nurse-Midwife and Board Certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Christiann Rosemurgy, Family Nurse Practitioner and Women’s Service Line Director Shannon Handler, Women’s Pelvic Physical Therapist Anne
Cooke, PT, MS, CAPP-Certified, and Urologist Shahar Madjar, MD.

They will discuss women’s health issues that are “south of your border,” such as menopause, incontinence, reproductive health, and other pelvic health issues.

This female fiesta is happening Monday, May 23, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at The Continental Fire Company, 408 E Montezuma Avenue in Houghton.

The festivities include free appetizers, fun drinks (non-alcoholic and regular), the opportunity to ask questions (including anonymous questions), and an Aspiring Women gift.

Attendance for “South of Your Border” is free, but advance registration is required.

Registration opens at 8 a.m. Monday, May 9. To register, call 906.337.6541. (Attendees must register individually.)

Aspiring Women is the Aspirus partnership with Spirit of Women, a nationwide network of hospitals and health care systems that inspires health and wellness on a local level, primarily through educational and entertaining events for women.

“We’re really excited to bring this new women’s health initiative to the community,” said Aspiring Women Coordinator Jenn Jenich-Laplander. “It’s fun, educational events like these that inspire people to achieve a lifetime of wellness.”
