Financial help for Flint courtesy of ten foundations who are committing $125 million to help the city recover from the water crisis.
The collaborative effort announced this morning includes the Charles Stewart Mott, W.K. Kellogg, Ford, Skillman, Kresge, Ruth Mott, Robert Wood Johnson, Hagerman, FlintNOW foundations and the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
The money will be used for independent water testing, interventions to help Flint kids overcome the effects of lead poisoning, the creation of early childhood programs and support for job training and entrepreneurship programs.
The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation has pledged $100 million over the next five years to support the effort.
