Two members of the Houghton Community Broadcasting staff received awards of Merit from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Tuesday night during the 27th annual Broadcast Excellence Awards in Lansing.
The awards, presented during the annual MAB convention went to Todd VanDyke in the sports category for his Keweenaw Report Sports report and to Kevin Ericson, who was honored in the Special Show Broadcast Personality category for KBear 102’s “Deer Hunters Roundup.”
Over 800 submissions from more than 80 stations throughout the state were judged by peers in Colorado for these awards, which the Houghton stations have received honors for the past five years.
