Tax day is getting closer. Usually tax returns are due April 15th, however this year the deadline is next Monday April 18th.
Officials at the Michigan Treasury Department say as of last week more than three million tax returns have been processed.
They are also encouraging taxpayers to file electronically when possible since it is the easiest way to receive a quick refund.
90-percent of this year’s returns have been e-filed.
One change this year is the Michigan Use Tax.
People who bought something out of state from a store that doesn’t collect sales tax need to report and pay the Use Tax.
