Houghton County Fair Schedule

The preliminary schedule for this year’s Houghton County Fair has been posted. This year’s midway will be provided by Spectrum Entertainment from Ironwood. Spectrum is replacing T.J. Schmidt and Company, which opted to accept a booking closer to its base of operations downstate. Monster trucks will return this year… as will the Motocross races, the tractor pull, the off-road derby, and the demolition derby. Hypnotist Kerry Sharp will return… and will be joined by. the Whispering Pines Mobile Zoo, and magician Wayne the Wizard. Scheduled musical performers will include Mike Urbis, Yesterday’s Wine, Tom Katalin, Vince Anthony, and the Country Drifters. An alpaca and llama show will be added this year. Fair officials have also announced that a $1,000 grant has been received from the Michigan Soybean Promotion Committee to help pay for printing the fair premium book, brochures, and passes.
