City of Houghton Donates $20,000 to UPSET

The Houghton City Council approved a $20,000 donation to the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement team at their most recent meeting.

City Manager, Eric Waara, says that the city has made a cash contribution in past years and intended on continuing that trend.

He added that after looking with the Houghton Police at what the UPSET team does for the community, they decided to make a more substantial donation than in past years.
