Illness Closes Another Copper Country School District

Illness has caused another closure of a local school district.

Ontonagon Area Schools will be closed until Monday.

School officials say approximately 90 kids in the district were out sick Wednesday.

The school has around 320 kids total in grades K-12.

Many of the sick students were reported to have either the stomach flu or an upper respiratory infection.

L’Anse Area Schools and Sacred Heart School in L’Anse experienced closures earlier this week also due to illness but were scheduled to reopen today.
