The annual Yooper Luge will be held in downtown Houghton tomorrow.
Isle Royale Street will be filled with snow, and you’re invited to build a sled and compete.
The competition starts at 1:00 p.m. with open sledding following the competition.
Business Development Director Susie Landers says even if you are not competing, you don’t want to miss this.
Prizes will be given out for distance, best decorated, most creative design, and most spectacular wipeout.
Sleds may be made out of plastic, cardboard, duct tape, glue, tin foil, shower curtain, or garbage bags.
Materials NOT permitted include wood, metal, fiberglass and aluminum.
Helmets are required for participants 17 and under and are recommended for participants 18 and older.
