Baraga County Among Four Counties Added To Emerald Ash Borer Quarantine List

The state is adding four more Upper Peninsula counties to the list of those under quarantine because of an emerald ash borer infestation.

Baraga, Dickinson, Marquette and Menominee counties have been added.

That leaves just three counties in the entire state not under quarantine, which restricts movement of some wood products out of the area without getting the go-ahead from the state first.

The emerald ash borer, which decimates ash trees, was first discovered in Michigan in 2002.
