Flint Residents Protest Outside Governor's Budget Presentation

Flint residents came to the Capitol Wednesday to protest outside the room where Governor Rick Snyder was presenting his 2016-17 budget.

The governor had to make his budget presentation while in the background chants could be heard from protesters shouting for his resignation.

Nakiya Wakes is a Flint resident.

She says she miscarried twins last year and suspects drinking lead-tainted water played a role in that.

She also worries about the impact the water crisis is having on her two other children.

Desiree Duell also lives in Flint.

She says she experienced ongoing flu-like symptoms until she stopped drinking the city’s water.

She says the governor should resign.

Both woman say they state should help pay to replace Flint’s water pipes and for residents high water bills.
