Reminders From The Houghton Police Department In Wake Of Recent Snow Storm

As the cleanup from last weekend’s storm continues, the Houghton Police Department is reminding residents of some things to keep in mind.

Lieutenant Nick Roberts says people need to drive careful and think of where to put their snow.

Roberts also said Houghton residents cannot push the snow across the street, it must be put in your yard and he suggests talking with your neighbors about sharing yard space for snow.

The other issue causing problems is parking at night. Cars cannot be parked on city streets or in the parking decks between 2am and 7am.

But also cars cannot be parked on the maintained sides of the street, or the right of ways.

Roberts admitted that this can be a stressful time of year but he believes things will be better if everyone works together.
