Mixed Reaction to Attorney General's Flint Investigation

There are mixed reactions to Attorney General Bill Schuette’s announcement that he’ll investigate the Flint water crisis.

The A.G. says he’ll look into the situation and what led up to lead-tainted water in Flint and determine whether any state laws were broken.

State Representative Sheldon Neeley, a Flint Democrat, who has been calling on the A-G to conduct an investigation, says the state’s top cop should be involved.

But Melonie McElroy of the government watchdog group Common Cause, says the A.G. has a conflict of interest.

She says if the citizens of Flint choose to file a lawsuit against Governor Rick Snyder, it would likely be the attorney general who would defend the governor.

She says there should be an independent investigation performed.
