Wadaga Acquitted on Embezzlement Charge – May 23, 2014 – Todd VanDyke
A former Baraga Village Treasurer has been acquitted of charges that she embezzled money from a L’Anse business. Cynthia Wadaga had been accused of stealing more than $20,000 from First Choice Auto Body while she was doing their books for a two-year period that ended in June of 2011. Her trial lasted more than a week. The jury began deliberations late yesterday, and the verdict was returned after two hours of deliberations in Baraga County Circuit Court in L’Anse.
